What we're really talking about here are your children (a.k.a. the 'kids', your 'babies) who are graduating from high school.

Our belief in creating images of High School Seniors is not to take pics of 'older' children but to create images of 'young adults' getting ready to enter a new world. We strive to show their passions, their favorite pastimes, their unique personalities.

Obviously there are a lot of other reasons for great portraits of the 'young adults' - sorry, I mean your older 'kids' - in your family between high school and getting married. They are experiencing major changes in their lives, interests, and passions which make for superb reasons to create a long-lasting image from this stage of their lives.

I'm not sure what to really say about family portraits - both basic and extended - except that, while I came from a loving family, we never had a family portrait taken in the 27 years before my father passed away from an aggressive cancer. Then it's just too late!

Fine Art is a fickle thing! After-all, "art is in the eye of the beholder!"

IMO, Fine Art can be of people, places, or things - whenever I come across an idea with any one of those subjects that says to me "This is something special!". Sometimes the resulting image is very straight-forward and sometimes it requires a fair amount of work after-the-click to become what I saw in my mind in that potentially short moment before-the-click.

Having spent over two decades working as a Registered Professional Engineer with some of the top architectural-engineering firms around, I know what these firms are truly looking for in the images of their completed projects. Not only do they want a great image of the overall facility but they also need to be able to show future clients their masterful attention to the details of the project.

Many styles make up the topic of Commercial Photography - food, business portraits, modeling shots, magazine assignments, advertising images, products shots, etc. Many of these could probably simply fall into the category of portraits BUT, since they are not for personal use, they end up as business/commercial images.
